Well this week wasn't bad at all. Second part of "my recipe" went in just fine: Bleomydin, Methotrexate, Ara-c, Vincristine, plus Decadron for nausea.
Anne was my nurse - got me started with 2 Tylenol which I took regularly for the next 24-30 hours or so ------------no nausea, no flu symptoms. There were fewer big highs of energy this week - I was generally more tired - though not devastatingly so. Shows went well - toughest being Wednesday matinee. Appetite remains strong as does sense of peace - could be growth, learning, new direction?!
Spent more than I've ever spent on drugs = $138.50 for Leucovorin - 4 every six hours (24hrs after Methotrexate). Sleep comes in short chapters broken by trips to the toilet. But as week went on, rest comes easier. I'm listening to my body and resting when it tells me to. Tuesday was on such day. TURKEY last week. SALADS this week! Lunch and the Impressionists with Patty on Thursday turned me onto making salads - something I am going to enjoy a lot. New side effects this week - sore throat, ache in jaw. Began rinsing and gargling with soda in salt and hydrogen peroxide.
Highlights:
- call from Molly Atwood (Monday A.M.) checking in - I was on my way out to therapy
- Call from Susan Long - offering quiche and visit to her new house/Tuesday afternoon
- Birthday card from Ray and Donna
- Ronnie asks about my health
- Impressionists with Patty - was tired afterwards but WHAT A SHOW!
- "Cupcake" at theatre on Saturday - what an angel
- Carol and girls Sunday afternoon bearing birthday treats
- Some warmish feet and hands this week - no tingling
- Note from Liz Georges - support, love, etc.
- Peter's daffodil blooms
